Artist/Tutor specialising in Drawing

Drawing is the basis of my practice which encompasses photography, digital, installation, painting and more, and often includes more than one discipline.

A forthcoming project is the Festival of Light in Burnham village where I am working with local children to bring the ancient trees of Burnham Beeches to the High Street on December 3rd - projecting images on to buildings in the centre, and using light in other ways to brighten the winter's night.

My most recent project is refurbishing a bird hide at College Lake near Tring where I drew on the walls and installed prismatic film.  I am intrigued by the fact that birds' vision is much superior to ours - they see a broader range of the light spectrum.  Where we cannot see ultraviolet, they can, and scientists now believe that much of the plumage that we thought dowdy fluoresces in ultraviolet light.

Sometimes I use sheet music which I cut and fold to produce abstract drawings that still have a relationship to the original piece.

I use a variety of materials and like to work with light, reflective materials and found objects.

I hold a BA in Fine Art Practice and an MA in Drawing As Process, and I tutor in drawing and general painting in workshops at the studios and at artsmartuk.
